New Year, New You!

Make 2020 Your Best Year Yet!

Well, the New Year has arrived and you’re sitting down thinking about how you’re going to make this year the best by getting fit and healthy.  You can do this by making your health your number one priority to start each and every day. Here are a few ways that can help you begin making the new you!

  1. Walking

You can start by simply going for a walk for 15 minutes every day. This will not cost you any money or any gym membership. Gradually increase the amount of time you are walking to 30 minutes every day. If you have not exercised in a long time, this is a great goal for you and you will feel great.

  1. Losing Weight

The key is to eat well but to be aware of the types of food you are eating and the amount of calories in each. The majority of adults eat 10% more calories than the recommended daily amount!

If you are having difficulty sticking with a healthy eating plan or not sure what would suit you best then it can be helpful to discuss your goals with a health professional.

  1. Stop Smoking

Stopping smoking is the single best thing you can do not only for your general health but for your heart health too. By stopping smoking and staying stopped, you will significantly reduce your risk of coronary heart disease, stroke and some cancers.

While making several lifestyle changes at once can be daunting, latest findings show that making just one healthy resolution can have knock-on benefits in other areas. If you succeed in adopting healthy choices in one area of your life you are more likely to be healthy in other areas too.

A small change can make a big difference. The world is open for you, set your small or huge goals now.
